Over the past few years those of us that work with Trellidor products have tended to get more excited about the newer designs like Clear Guard and Rollerstyle. We’ve secured some lovely homes with these products and photograph them for publicity purposes whenever we can.
But our Trellidor franchises have also done some fantastic installations using our more traditional products in the commercial market. These are sometimes really spectacular in terms of size and installation challenges.
Here are some super-sized ones that we feel are worthy of more than just a pat on the back for the teams that fitted them:
Trellidor Joburg East: high and wide security gates
Trellidor Joburg East team completed a large Trellidor Retractable installation at Dis-Chem in Boksburg under the operating restrictions that are often a feature of this type of commercial contract.
They were only permitted to install after hours so they fitted these security gates on two consecutive nights.
The space required four Trellidor Retractable T800 steel sliding security doors. Each one is 3.2 meters high and up to 5 meters wide.
Trellidor Jeffreys Bay: curved shop front
Trellidor Jeffreys Bay owner Morne Schutz fitted eight Trellidor Retractable T700 security gates to the windows and doors of Commercial Marine’s premises in J Bay.
The curved shop front required about 50m of sliding security gates in total. Their expanse looks very impressive when closed to protect the windows after trading hours.
Being located in a seaside town, corrosion had to be taken into consideration. Trellidor products go through a pre-treatment process before being powder coated to help prevent rust.
Trellidor Pretoria East: 60m security gate the longest?
Trellidor Pretoria East fitted 60m of Trellidor Retractable security gates to the Metro outlet at Silver Lakes. This is the equivalent of securing 75 average-size front doors, side by side!
Sales Consultant Ruan Ras says it is a single span (in one long row), 10 door flexi-unit that weighs a full ton.
For health and safety reasons the bottom track of these gates is recessed into the floor so that it doesn’t create a tripping hazard. It was quite an exercise cutting the track for the 60 metre security gate into the floor tiles.
Trellidor Retractable security gates can also be fitted to curved doors and windows. In fact, there is very little that a traditional sliding security gate can’t secure,whether steel or aluminium.
