Trellidor has been exhibiting at the Johannesburg Homemakers Expo for over 20 years. So you’d think that enthusiasm for the big ask that is required to set up and staff a stand as big as ours would have waned by now. But excitement was as visible this year as it was in the past.
Part of the reason is that shows like this continue to draw the crowds, giving Trellidor franchise owners and their sales consultants a chance to chat to existing and potential customers in a relaxed setting. There is no pressure to buy. The products on the stand are there for people to feel and try out.
Every product range is there, from the entire burglar bar range to retractable security gates to security screens and roller shutters. Visitors are always intrigued by Trellidor Clear Guard because it is such a difficult product to photograph for brochures and the website. When they get on the stand they can’t wait to touch it and see how this see-through security barrier really works.
I walked the entire exhibition hall several times, coming back to the Trellidor stand periodically. There were always new visitors asking questions of the sales consultants, opening and closing the security barriers and asking consultants to visit their homes for a free security assessment or product quote.
And even though economic times are tough, the franchises received literally hundreds of requests for site visits. I think one of the benefits of this type of interaction is that customers are well-prepared before the consultant gets to their homes or offices. They know exactly which products they’re interested in and why.
The cherry on top of a very productive four days at the Expo was that our stand one a Silver Award once again. So well done to the entire team on producing such a user-friendly exhibition stand!
