Promotion name:  “50 Years, 50 Safe Spaces” (the “Competition”).
Promotion period:  Start: [3 August 2026]  ·  End: [30 September 2026] (23:59).

No entries will be accepted after the closing time. Recipients are announced on a rolling basis during the Competition Period; installation of awarded units may take place after it (see clause 6).

1. Participants

  • Any person participating in this Competition does so on acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  • By entering, all participants and recipients agree to be bound by these rules as interpreted by the Promoter, whose decision regarding any dispute will be final and binding.
  • The Promoter reserves the right at any time, without notice, to amend, modify or change these rules, and to postpone, suspend or cancel the Competition or any prize not yet awarded, or any aspect thereof, for any reason the Promoter reasonably deems necessary.
  • The Competition is open to all residents or citizens of South Africa over the age of eighteen (18).
  • The following are not eligible to enter: directors, members, business partners, employees, sales agents, advertising agency staff, advisors or consultants of the Promoter, its associated companies and service providers; the immediate family members of these persons (spouses, life partners, parents, children and siblings); and any person controlled directly or indirectly by the Promoter, including its holding companies, subsidiaries and their employees, agents and consultants.

2. Eligible organisations

An organisation may be nominated if it operates in South Africa and creates a safe space and strengthens its community, with a focus on the following areas:

  • Gender-based violence (GBV) shelters — shelters and organisations supporting survivors of GBV;
  • Children’s homes — safe homes for children in need;
  • Disability care centres — homes and centres supporting people living with disability; and
  • Community organisations — groups strengthening and safeguarding their communities.

The Promoter reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether a nominated organisation falls within the spirit and intent of the Competition, and to verify an organisation’s legitimacy before any award.

3. How to enter

  • To enter, nominate an organisation by completing the online nomination form at https://trellidor.co.za/50-safe-spaces/ during the Promotion Period, providing the organisation’s details and a short motivation (your story), and agree to receive Trellidor marketing communication.
  • As part of entry, participants must like and share the campaign post on the Promoter’s social media.
  • No purchase is necessary to enter. Entrants may nominate more than one organisation, and an organisation may be nominated by more than one person.
  • Incomplete, illegible or fraudulent nominations will be disqualified.

4. Selection & the prize

  • A total of fifty (50) Trellidor security barriers will be awarded across the Competition, with a maximum of fifteen (15) units awarded to any one organisation. The barriers may therefore be shared across several organisations.
  • Selection is not a game of chance: a panel appointed by the Promoter will assess eligible nominations against criteria including demonstrated need, community impact and verification of the organisation. The Promoter may seed a number of nominations and stagger announcements throughout the Promotion Period. The decision of the Promoter’s management is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Each awarded unit is one (1) Trellidor security barrier (to the approximate value of R[value] per unit, including standard installation), supplied and fitted by the Promoter.
  • The prize is non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. No substitution or assignment of the prize by a recipient is permitted, but the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of comparable value if required.
  • By accepting the prize, the recipient organisation agrees to participate in a photo- and video-shoot and consents to the use of its name and images on Trellidor social media and other advertising platforms for a period of not more than twelve (12) months after the end of the campaign.
  • A selected organisation must verify its legitimacy to the Promoter’s reasonable satisfaction and respond within [7] days of being contacted, failing which the Promoter may select an alternative.

5. Installation

Installation is subject to a site assessment and to technical feasibility at the organisation’s premises. Where a standard barrier is not suitable, the Promoter will use reasonable efforts to provide an appropriate alternative of similar value. Installation timelines are subject to product lead times and scheduling, and may extend beyond the Promotion Period. Any prize accepted is at the recipient’s own risk, and the Promoter is not liable for any defect in the prize.

6. Safeguarding identities

The Promoter will obtain an organisation’s consent before featuring it, and will not identify, photograph or name any vulnerable individual (including residents or beneficiaries) without that person’s informed, written consent. The Promoter undertakes not to disclose a recipient’s personal information other than for the declared purpose. The dignity, safety and privacy of beneficiaries take precedence over any content opportunity.

7. General

  • Should any dispute arise in relation to the interpretation of these rules, the Promoter’s decision shall be final, and no correspondence shall be entered into.
  • Upon entering, the entrant agrees to receive marketing information, updates and offers from the Promoter until such time as the entrant opts out.
  • If required by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, the National Consumer Commission, or for any other reason, the Promoter shall have the right to terminate this promotional competition with immediate effect and without notice. In such event, all entrants waive any rights they may have against the Promoter and acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature against the Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, sponsors, agents or consultants.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant if foul play is suspected, with immediate effect.
  • The Promoter is not liable for any technical failure that may result in a nomination not being successfully submitted, and entrants are responsible for providing correct personal details.
  • The Promoter may require recipients to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement and indemnification to enable the Promoter to comply with these rules and the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008.

8. Personal information (POPIA)

Personal information collected through the Competition will be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and the Promoter’s privacy policy at https://holdings.trellidor.co.za/privacy-policy/, solely for the purposes of administering the Competition and related communications. Nominations are routed to a controlled internal record and handled by a designated person. By entering, participants consent to such processing.

9. Platform disclaimer

This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Google. Participants release these platforms from any liability in connection with the Competition.

10. Exclusions of liability & indemnity

  • Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations created for either the participant or the Promoter in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (“CPA”), where applicable.
  • Qualifying participants consent to and undertake to do all things necessary to enable the Promoter to comply with its obligations under the CPA, including providing such personal information as may be required to facilitate awarding the prize.
  • By entering and/or accepting any prize, participants indemnify, release and hold harmless the Promoter, including its subsidiaries, holding companies and affiliates and their directors, employees, agents, suppliers and contractors, from and against any actions, claims or liability for injury, loss, damage, expense or claims of any kind resulting, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Competition and/or the use, acceptance or possession of a prize.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. They are available free of charge at https://trellidor.co.za/50-safe-spaces/ts-and-cs/ for the duration of the Competition and for [3] months thereafter.
